“Father, thank you for the Spirit of Revelation that will speak today through this epistle. We don’t want to hear from man but from you. Father, we thank You for this true fellowship because true fellowship with Your Word produces fruits.” So many mixed His Gospel with leaven and that produces death. I don’t need a man to tell me what to do because the Holy Spirit is already doing that, but I need man to help me to do what He is telling me to do, to give me an on-time reminder, and to impact our lives which is another form of the Holy Spirit to alert me, wake me, and shake me! God is very much concerned about us as His Church and recovering all that has been stolen throughout the years, whether because we have been sleeping our entire lives, our own ignorance, or because of the bread filled with leaven that some have been eating for so long.
Let’s go to it as we start reading 1 Samuel 29:4-5. Isn’t it interesting? Men picked Saul, men put him on a pedestal, and the same men mocked him later. “Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?” (verse 5). This proves that God is the one who anoints and picks from the heart. Man is doing this even unto this day. So sad, the same people who picked Saul, the same people who asked God for him to be the king, are the same people who turned on him and jumped on the bandwagon with David. But Saul did not have the right heart to be a king, so he became very jealous. This verse is hearsay from the rumors of David. This kind of situation just stirred pride in Saul. Saul should have been concerned about his nation. He should have been so happy and so honored, to have a warrior like David, but it was all about Saul. When you are not of God and all about yourself, your kingdom will fall. David did not repay evil for evil. He did not allow the praises of man to turn his character to be about him. Envy, jealousy, and vain glory will always rob the anointing and favor given from God to us.
All things work together for those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28). It never said for those who God loves because God loves everybody! All things worked out for David because he truly loved the Lord! When I say, “God loves everyone,” I am saying, “God is love,” so He cannot be separated from those who have chosen the narrow way and received His Son, His blood, and His Word.
David asked his six hundred men to pursue the Amalekites with him, but two hundred of them remained behind because they were so tired, worn out, exhausted, weary…….So, David and four hundred of his men went out, and just as the Lord said, they rescued their wives, children, and all of the plunder that was taken. Now, we are all Davids. We have to stand on the promises, on the faith, and on the Word of God. Prophetic words for the house, personal words out of the Word of God! We just need to stand as the Word of God is working in us for His good pleasure. The Word of God is a discerner of our hearts and minds.
Let’s go to 1 Samuel 30:1-11 and we will see a huge victory! But people came to stone him, verse 6: “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” Look what David did. He encouraged himself in the Lord his God! He could have given up! But he did not! The devil can’t do anything to you if you love God. The enemy can’t touch the anointing.
The same people who cheered brought division between Saul and David. Again, the same people who cheered David for killing the 10,000s now wanted to kill him. Do not put your trust in popularity, not in likes, not in good comments, not in video views, but in the Lord. Saul did not recover all. David did. Can you imagine how David felt in that situation? “I messed up. I failed the nation,” but David encouraged Himself in the Lord. He sought the Lord, “What do you want me to do in this situation?” (verse 8 ). He did not let the setback set him back. “And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” Then he walked on water (in faith), on the Word of the Lord. Nothing can be better than hearing God!
Some of us don’t encourage ourselves, we just wait and cry over and over! We need to enquire of the Lord (verse 8 ), instead of trying to fix things in us! How did David get encouragement? He encourages Himself in the Lord! David knew that all of His promises would be fulfilled! He knew God is not a man to lie. David did not freak out! Yes, he was discouraged, but never gave up. He was forsaken and cursed by those who praised him before, but he did not run away. He was waiting on God. If God be for you, who can be against you (Romans 8:31)! Every weapon formed against you shall backfire on the enemy. God will work it for our good if we continue to love Him!
Jesus enquired of the Lord about Lazarus’s death and in so many other situations. We can learn from Him. “I can’t be pressed to do what people want me to. I just need to do what I see the Father doing and how He is doing it.” People think they love God just because God loves them. Blood covenant cannot be broken! Jesus shed it but you need to believe! “And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all” (verse 8 ). They pursued; they recovered everything! Let’s remember and learn from David’s story about the distress in life, and not be discouraged, and find strength to inquire of the Lord so we can pursue, overtake, and recover all that God has for us as promises. They recovered everything!
Let’s read Romans 8:18-39: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (verse 18). The glory in us shall be revealed in their present time! Whatever you are going through is because God wants to bring you into Glory, and the Glory will flow through you to others who don’t know him. The fire you go through now is because of what is ahead of you; because without this fire now, you won’t make it later. God sees the future. The enemy will try to tell you, “You mess up God’s plans,” but no. God is using all things together to remove everything that is not of Him until He has His son and His image living inside of you. God will keep shaking everything out of you so He can remain inside of you! David came in the name of the Lord, in faith, and in power! David did not depend on his religious rituals but on His God… “I will come in the name and power of the Lord!” David did not have a hidden agenda or thoughts like, “Oh, these people will love me for what I am about to do.” No! The man that keeps it about God, God will be with that man. David knew it was not about him but about his God and His kingdom! So, rejoice when they come to stone you, so did they to the real prophets (Matthew 5:11-12). In this parable of Matthew 21:33-38, they even decided to kill the servant to steal the inheritance.
“But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, ‘They will reverence my son.’ But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance” (verses 37-38). This is a demonic religious spirit out to steal and pillage!
When you start preaching about the cross, the blood, and the narrow WAY, they will come with the stones! Because the Gospel exposes hidden iniquities. The hidden iniquity is the dangerous thing! Because you think you are right and everyone is wrong! But other people see it but you don’t. Saul was filled with hidden iniquity! What men wanted from Saul was not what they needed! We need what God has for us; that is all we need! Our “Yes” to God, will bring all we need! God took everything from David, and if that happens to us, probably, we will commit suicide. But David encouraged himself in the Lord. All of the afflictions are a way for God to manifest His Glory! “O God, change this and that…,” but if God changes you, everything around you will feel that it has been changed when it may not have changed, but you will think things have changed because you are the one changed! God will humble you, showing you the need to change! When our ways please the Lord, we will have peace even with our enemies (Proverbs 16:7). Peace is the kingdom; joy is the kingdom! When you see yourself in the Promised Land, you will be thanking God for all the trials and fire! Some people say they follow Jesus, but they are filled with bitterness! Submission to the power of the cross turns us into the sons of God. The image of satan was manifested in the garden! But God restored the image of Christ through Jesus! Jesus came back to bring the image of the Father back on Earth! The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil will always be there; so will be the Tree of Life. Which one are we still eating from? When seeds of disobedience were eaten, at that moment when the wrong choice was made, choice was birthed into the world to all mankind. Choice is still part of life, but Jesus came to return us to the image of God. Jesus, being the visible image of the invisible God. Now, He being the first fruit of us called the Church (Romans 8:29). Stones that the builders rejected (Psalms 118:22) is the foundation of our lives. Who your cornerstone is will be what you look like.
Thinking of your past will never help your future in God! We can’t look back! The process starts the moment you were born again! If you still think you are a sinner, you will be fighting against sin way longer than you should. But if you believe you are a saint in the blood, holiness will manifest! The end of the movie of our story was revealed! These precious promises are still coming! Even when you make 20 thousand mistakes, all things still work together for your good if you still love Him! Don’t look back anymore! To be predestined and to be conformed means He promised, and it is in motion. Now we need to partake and partner with Him. We need to stand, we need to subdue, we need to recover all, all things including us working together with God! Before He knew us, He had ordained us as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah, years later, let prophetic words out! You are also in the pages. We are the Church, lively stones placed by God for His good pleasure, for His glory, and for His purpose.
Everybody wants to be translated straight to their promises, but you have not even gone through the trials, the tests, and the fire that will help you to receive them and to be a steward of them. You must serve one master: Christ!
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19). Pay attention to this part: the manifestation of the sons! Sons, plural! They can’t say, “manifestation of Jesus as the son of God,” no! It is plural! They are waiting for us all to manifest as the sons and daughters of God. God will give us more than we can handle so He won’t lose us; not like the religious spirit says that He won’t, but so we lean on Him and need him! So that we can handle the promotion, the blessings, and the platform. God won’t give us any of that if He knows He could lose us at the end! But the religious mindset has NOT included on this list the trials and sufferings for Christ. What a deception! God will not spare us from the hard trials! No, He won’t. God will let us go through it, but He will be there to bring us through, allowing us to go through it for our own good, and that will bring us into maturity. He will use whatever the world or the devil throws at you. God is protecting us. He loves to see us prosper, but He loves us more than our own prosperity!
“For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope” (verse 20). “Hope differs make the heart sick…” (Proverbs 13:12). Why do you lose hope when you go through your afflictions? Why do you feel alone when you have THE HEAD and HIS BODY to lean on? When the travail ends, you will forget the pain, the labor! This is the whole point about seed-time-harvest!
Lust was born when Adam and Eve disobeyed God! There was no lust from one another; they did not know they were naked. Only until they did what they were not supposed to do, through disobedience, sin was born. Even all human nature suffers up to this day because of that! There were no chains, there was no death, no fight among the enemies! Now, all mankind will suffer. They all came under the curse. It is not just about living in the garden but about obeying the Word so we can get back and live there now and forever! Jesus is the garden of the Tree of Life. The serpent is still up to his old tricks, but now we have our Father back!
“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (verse 22). Endure the travail, and the promises will come! Enjoy the joy of the child! Enjoy the joy of the promises! We are the promise of the manifestation of Christ on the Earth! The gates of hell will not prevail! You may be young in Christ, but you are coming into a 2-thousand-year-old church. Jesus is the first fruit of many brothers, and He comes with the baskets filled with many other fruits: US! “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” Verse 24
His Church is and will manifest! You better have hope! As you wait, you better have hope! The shame of our nakedness will appear to every man if you try to hide it! But if you humble yourself, God will cover you! I choose to know nothing else, but Christ crucified and the power of His resurrection! You can know the Word, but the most important is to know Him! Jesus knew the Word but He always was the Word. That is why satan could find nothing in Him that was of him…. “for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (John 14:30). The enemy tries to make us think nothing is going right in our lives, but look around you, how faithful He has been! Once we obey the Word, promises are bound to happen! All shall be recovered! What we do in the waiting matters to God! Let His fire burn off your flesh! If Christ is still being formed in you, there are a lot of things to be burned! If you keep judging yourself, God won’t have to.
Your nakedness will not be exposed in public if you expose yourself in private, between you and God! I don’t have time to argue with theologians, dead letters, or founders of thousands of denominations. I just have enough time to rend my heart so Christ can be formed in me! I will hold onto this hope. “But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” Verse 25
Groaning that cannot be uttered will confront what you pray to God in the natural. People want to recover what is not from God to them. For example, you may be asking God for something so fleshly, so earthly, but the moment you are praying in the Spirit, the Spirit will pray something totally different than what you asked! “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (verse 26). Once God brings you to college, you can’t go back to kindergarten! You need to get mature even in the way you pray if you want to recover all! God will search your mind and heart. The intercession for the saints has to be according to the will of God (verse 27).
“And we know that all things work together for good TO THEM that LOVE God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (verse 28). Remember, TO THEM that love God! NOT TO THEM WHO GOD LOVES! God loves us all. Many have gotten that twisted and are paying the consequences of false preaching. “To those who love God.” We have exhausted teaching on the true definition of God’s love. Let’s just say one more phrase from Jesus to define love: loving God can be defined by His Word definition… “If you LOVE ME… KEEP MY WORDS” (John 14:15); that means obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22)!
The Word is a lamp unto your feet, so you won’t stumble! Keep reading verses 29-33! God called us all, but let’s make sure we will be His chosen ones! Joseph was called and chosen, but he went through a lot because of that, so much jealousy; but if God be for us, who can be against us (verse 31). It was God that justifies us all as His Josephs! Wear your coat only on special occasions; some jealous people won’t be able to handle it! That is what humility does; wear your coat well! We were all orphans once, but now we all adopted sons and daughters of God with a divine right and promise of recovering all! We are more than conquerors! But the more you freak out during the trials and tests, the more you will go through them! But the more you rest, the more He works for you! Nothing – tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or sword, death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come can separate us from His love and promises (verse 34, verse 38). Nothing will separate you from Him! Not even demons! Your tribulations bring a testimony. Jesus’ tribulation brought a testimony of Himself, which became the testimony of our victory! Keep pursuing, keep overtaking, and you will recover all!
Let’s read Philippians 3:12-14. “But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” That is it right there! You may not have arrived, but keep pressing on because we have all of these exceedingly great promises (2 Peter 1:1-12). All of these promises are enough for us to keep pursuing and overtaking until we recover all: Recover your divine nature and all that comes with it! Keep fighting the good fight of faith! You can’t make yourself Godly. It takes His blood, it takes faith, it takes patience! It is not by your work, your flesh, or by man’s strength!
It has to be Him doing it because His Word says that we have been purged from our old sins! Be established in the present Truth (verse 12).
You can’t be a lover of people if you don’t love Him first! God is calling us to go deeper, wider, further, into intimacy, into Truth, into freedom, into healing. Seek first the kingdom, and all things will be added unto God. Nothing added unto you by God can be taken away from God! All things work together for good even if you do bad things when your heart is in purity, God will still work them together for good! We must recover all! We must pursue! We must overtake! We must recover all! We must enquire of the Lord and encourage ourselves in the Lord until all that has been lost will be recovered! We shall recover all!
Amen!
