God is calling His people to be a Levitical priesthood, in whom their inheritance is the Lord Himself. God is looking for a people that have an inheritance in His face and His heart, rather than His hand. Where is your inheritance? Is it in what God can give you? Or is it God Himself? These are sons and daughters of God. Not spiritual gold diggers that are after His riches, but hearts of gold that are after His heart. Saul was after the glamour; David was after God. What are you after? See, we all have these end-game goals in our head, or in the back of our mind, or deep down in our heart. “When I get this, or when I move here, or when I make this amount of money, or when I'm at this level,” or something down the line that when we think we have it, we will be happy. See, we're all trying to reach The Promised Land. Now, there is a spiritual promised land of seeing His promises come to pass in our lives. Yet we don't understand these promises because we still expect a natural form of it, or we imagine it in the flesh, but we don't understand that we already have these promises in the Spirit.
That's why Paul said the Christ that I preach unto you is not “yea, yea” or “nay, nay” because all the promises of God are yes and amen! Meaning, they are already yours! But how come I don't see them? Well, according to Hebrews, many of the Israelites could not enter into the Promised Land because of unbelief. See, it's not a path we have to walk anymore that's going to get us into the Promised Land like it did them, but to get us into this spiritual promised land. We walk into it by Faith! For we walk by faith and not by sight, and if you walk by sight, you will never see it because Jesus said blessed are those who do not see yet believe! Thomas had to see it to believe it. The Israelites saw it and still didn't believe it. They saw their enemies consumed; they saw the waters divide; they saw a pillar of smoke and fire by night; they saw food come from the sky and water come out of a rock. They saw mightier deeds than even we may see currently but yet still perished in the wilderness because of unbelief. See, it's not about seeing! It's about believing! This is how faith works! For faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things NOT SEEN. Faith is the proof. You're waiting for something to happen or see something like Abraham needed to see something and went into the flesh to help his unbelief, to help God out with Ishmael, but it was only showing the manifestation, the proof, the evidence of His unbelief because Sarah was to conceive it. Are you making things happen to show evidence of your unbelief, or are you letting things happen to show evidence of your faith? Faith needs to be the evidence to you that what God said He has for you, or what He's going to do, shall be made manifest! Then, the manifestation of what you are believing for will be the evidence of your faith to everyone else!
What is really "The Promised Land"? Is it things, or is it happiness? Because you think when you get those things, you will be happy? So, what are you really trying to achieve? To reach your goals? Or be satisfied? To have peace? To have joy? Are finances really what you want, or is it security? Is it really prosperity that you want? Or is it that you think when you are prosperous, you can travel the world, have this, have that, go here or there, and when I have this freedom, I will be satisfied, I will be happy. This is what most people's promised land looks like. Most people's promised lands are carnal. When I get this, when I go here, but see, the Kingdom of God is not about getting this, or going here, or arriving at something. It is within. The Kingdom of God is The Promised Land. He said I will send you the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 1, it calls Him The Holy Spirit of "Promise." He is The Promise, and we are The Land. See, we are not going to a "Promised Land." We are The Promise like Issac, and now we are bringing The Promised Land to the nations. In The Old Testament, Moses was bringing a nation to The Promised Land; now, we are bringing The Promised Land to the nations! What is The Promised Land? The promised land of your flesh is whatever you think is going to make you happy, whatever you think is going to satisfy and fulfill you. Yet that's why the Bible says, “The Lord is my Shepherd, and I shall not want.” See, because He is "I AM," He is my fulfillment, He is my satisfaction, He is my Joy, my Peace, my Provision, my Vision, my Rock, and My Salvation. All this time all along, you have been thinking God was leading you to the promised land when God has been The Promised Land the whole time!
The Bible says, “The Kingdom of God is Joy, Peace, and Righteousness in the Holy Ghost!” In what? In God! Is joy, peace, and righteousness. He is The Spirit. Don't just call Him the Spirit of Truth, Revelation, Knowledge, and Wisdom. Call Him the Spirit of Promise because in Him is The Land of Milk and Honey because His Word is as sweet as honey, and in Him is The Milk of The Word, and in Him is perfect fruit, The Fruit of The Spirit. In Him is The River, The Well that never runs dry! That sounds like The Promised Land! And it's now in us! He said to the woman at the well, you have been going to this well, and you've gone to five other wells that you think are going to satisfy you and keep you happy, and even the well you are at now is still a broken cistern! But Woman, I will not just give you of this well, but I will put in you this well in which you will never thirst again! An eternal well that springs up forever. See, if we read Deuteronomy 8, starting at verse 7, it begins to describe The Promised Land, and you can see all the symbolism of what we now have in the Holy Spirit. Remember, He calls us the wheat, then the barley, which is provision like Joseph had in the lean years. Now, He is our Provider. It says He is the vine, and we are the branches, the fruit of the Spirit, which is the figs and the pomegranates, the olive oil which is The Anointing. The Honey, which is His Word sweeter than honey, and the bread, the manna, which is every word that proceeds out of His mouth, and the stones as iron. And He said now we are The Lively Stones which He shall use to build The House. The Fountain as He said to the woman at the well that he would put in her, that well springing up and as it says there, "A land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills." The Bible says out of our bellies shall come rivers, brooks of living water, and in you, Woman, shall be a "wellspring." And it says although we walk through "the valley" of the shadow of death… and, also, it calls us a city on a hill, for who shall ascend the hill of the Lord, those with clean hands and a pure heart. See, it’s now not a river, a well, or a fountain. Now we are the fountains, we are the water, the springs, that are springing up out of the valleys, springing up out of the hills that it talks about in Deuteronomy 8. Now it’s us. If The Promise is in us, then we are The Promised Land. Now it’s not about getting to The Promised Land; it’s about entering into The Promised Land, and the Bible says to strive for this one thing. One thing only the Bible asks you to strive for (Hebrews 4). To enter into His rest. And verse 1 says, "Let us therefore fear, lest a PROMISE being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it."
See, this is a Holy Fear that we all need to have, of missing God, missing what He has for us. Not fear of what He will do for us, but fear of missing Him or not having all of Him. That’s what I’m here for, is to have all of Him. That as it is in heaven, so it shall be on earth for me and for you! I want all of Him and nothing less. He is The Promised Holy Spirit prophesied in Joel, promised by Jesus. Sealed in us by The Blood. And now in Him, we find rest, in Him we find joy, in Him we find peace, righteousness, and happiness because He Himself is more than enough, and if He is not enough, then nothing will ever be enough because He is more. We will never be satisfied with that spiritual promised land called God if we don’t die to the lust of the flesh and the pride of life because we need to realize that those things won’t make us happy, and they never will. And their happiness has only been momentary, but His happiness, His Joy, His Peace, is eternal. It never runs out, and it never runs dry, and it always satisfies the soul because it is the only thing that was made to satisfy the soul. Come unto me all you who are weary; I will give rest to your weary souls. For the things you have strived after, for you lust to envy, and you lust but you have not, you kill and desire to have, and cannot obtain, yet you have not! See, because you are not finding it in Him, you are still trying to find it in the world. You are not finding it in Him, you are still trying to find it in things, in people, in places, in accolades, in titles, in money, in jobs, and in dreams, but you can only find true joy, true happiness in Him. And when you find it in Him, you don’t go around the mountain of materialism. Now, you can climb the hill of the Lord and step into the presence of God and have all that you need because He is all that you want! Is He all that you want yet? Well, maybe you need some more time in the desert, in The Wilderness, to dry out the lust of your flesh so that He can become the one thing and the only thing; and then He will start to give you everything - the spoils of the land - but this time, the spoils of land won’t have you!
The prodigal son did not have the inheritance; the inheritance had Him. But when the prodigal son realized His Father was His treasure and not the inheritance, he realized from that moment on that he could never lose his inheritance because his Father was his inheritance the whole time. It's my Father that I want, and then my Father will entrust me with the inheritance because my treasure is not the inheritance, it's Him!
