“And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:16-26
With man this is impossible. Let this encourage you today, for it is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. He is the hope in you for you to be able to manifest this same glory that His father gave to Him and He now gave to us. You can’t do it! The word of God is impossible with you! Even the law taught us our need for Christ. Yet now through Christ, we can do it! Now through Christ, it is possible. Now you can’t say that you can’t do it because now you're actually telling Him He can’t do it! He is the God of the impossible, but without Him it is impossible. Just like this rich young ruler, he wanted eternal life. He wanted Christ. He thought the works of the law would justify and get him in. Yet Jesus wanted all of his life, all of his heart, but where his treasure was, there was where his heart was. For out of the heart comes the issues of life! His heart was in his possessions. Yet you can’t have your cake and eat it, too, in the Kingdom. It’s all or nothing. Then He said, “It’s easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.” Who can be saved, Jesus? Who can walk this walk and really give up everything for you? Who can arrive at your standard of righteousness? It is impossible. No man can follow Him without Him. No man can even come unto Him unless through the Father.
Even Jesus Himself needed to be strengthened in the garden to be able to complete the good, perfect, and acceptable will of God. Be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Be holy for I am Holy. Impossible, Jesus! How can any man do this? How can any man walk as you walked? There is no man found worthy, in the heavens above, nor on the earth below. But you! But you, Jesus! You are the only one found worthy. And through you, we can do all things, through you who strengthens us. For apart from you, we can do nothing. For in you we live, move, and have our being. For with man this is impossible, for the arm of man is too short, but your arm is not too short to seek and save that which was lost. For you give us the grace to run this race until the end. So, we go boldly to the throne of grace in time of need. For you have sent the helper, the Holy Spirit. For you told the apostles to wait in Jerusalem until they receive power from on high to be your witnesses. For it is not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord, Zerubbabel. For you cannot even mortify the deeds of the flesh unless by the Spirit, the helper. For flesh cannot overcome flesh. For no flesh can please God. For the flesh is at enmity with the Spirit. For how can what is against the Spirit, please the Spirit? This is good news because for all this time you have been trying to do it on your own, in your own strength, in your own willpower, but it is God who works in us to will and to do for His good pleasure, and we work with Him!
“And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.” 1 Corinthians 6:14
So we need to let the oil flow from the head down. Let His Kingdom come, let His will be done, and let His power come down from on high. For when I am weak, He is strong, for God is near to the brokenhearted. Let the weak say they are strong for His grace, His power is sufficient in our weakness. And His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So, we boast more abundantly in our weakness and glory in our infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon us. For when we are weak, He is strong, When I decrease, He increases. For we are not called to the spirit of fear unto bondage again, but the Spirit of Love, POWER, and a sound mind. For you will be endued with power, Peter. But Jesus, “we have left it all and followed you!” “There is no man that has left all and followed me.” For Peter, not even you have left it all. You left your possessions at home but your possessions are still in your heart. For possessions, I do not want, but your heart! For where your treasure is, there is your heart. I wanted the rich young ruler's heart! It’s easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle. For you’ve failed me, you denied me three times. You let satan use you to get in the way of me going to the cross. You went back to your old life when I died, but Peter, I see your desire! For your flesh is weak but my Spirit is strong. And when you go unto Jerusalem, wait in the upper room, and you will receive power from on high! For before my power, you were weak. That Peter failed me! But that Peter is crucified with Christ and this Peter shall now live, the Peter that is endued with power, for now through me, Peter, you will be empowered to no longer just follow Christ, but to be Christ on Earth. For I will empower you to be a witness for me, and when people see you, they will witness my power, they will witness my glory, for the same glory I was given, I now give to you. For as He is in Heaven, so shall we be on Earth. For before it was impossible but with my power, with my Spirit, the impossible has now become possible. For you will now receive power to become the sons of God. And this is not of your own doing but of your father who is in heaven. For you will be a house not built by the hands of man, but by the Hands of God. For I have formed you in your mother’s womb and now I will form you in my image. For you are predestined before the foundations of the earth to be conformed to my image. You are the clay, and I am the potter. You will no longer follow my laws anymore, but I will write in you my laws on your heart, and out of your heart shall flow rivers of my word, and I will cause you to walk in my ways.
For this life is now Christ, and this life I now live through the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us, and the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is now in us. And we now in Him. Nevertheless, your will be done, through your power. For the weight of this calling is too great, but your power is greater. The opposition is strong, but you are stronger, so we lean on the strong one, and we bind the strong man and plunder his goods. Even Jesus said, “I can of my own self do nothing.” Even Christ could not have His ministry unless through the Father. And now we cannot even have our ministry unless through Christ, for through Christ it is possible. He is the vine; we are the branches. He is the head, we are the body. He is the bridegroom and we are the bride. For the woman is the weaker vessel but He is the strong one. For this is the woman coming out of the wilderness leaning on her beloved. For He is the Rock of Salvation in which we stand. He is the Spirit in whom there is no variation, nor shadow of turning, The same Spirit in which we cry Abba Father. He is the mind that moves this body. Through this mind, we can know all things, for He is the Spirit of Truth, and He will lead us unto all truth.
For we put on Christ and make no provision for the flesh. For as He is so are we, for we are hidden in Christ in God. We are hidden in the cleft of the rock. Hidden behind the work of the cross. For it is this garment called Christ who is our life that shall enter us into the wedding feast of the lambs. For the Kingdom of God is like the parable of the wedding feast. For it was the good and bad that were invited to this feast, but only the ones that had this garment on could stay, and the man that did not put on this garment, that did not put Christ, was put out of the feast. For we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. And we are hidden in Him, but we must give all our life to have all of His life that we may not have the leaven of this life in our faith, for a little bit of leaven leavens the whole lump. But He shall purge His floor, and every branch that bears fruit, He shall purge it that it may bear more fruit. For a husband and a wife are one flesh, for I speak unto you a mystery of Christ and the Church, the Bride and the Bridegroom. For the two shall become one, but in the end, He will not be one with a harlot. He will purge and remove the spots and the wrinkles, and He will build His Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. He will make His bride pure, spotless, and white, that He shall be one with what is holy, just as He is holy. His fan is His winnowing hand. We must endure the Fire, endure the purging. For this is His meat, to do the Will of the Father and form a bride into His image.
For the rich young ruler’s works were filthy rags, but He will form this righteousness in us as He dresses us with this righteousness, for He is the vinedresser. It is He who works in us and through us. For He is the wise master builder and He will build His church, His temple. For we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and He will build it up, raise it up on the third day, the last day, for the latter shall be greater than the former. For we must get our mouths in agreement with life, for life and death is in the power of the tongue. For we cannot say that we cannot do this, for we can. But yes, you’re right, “YOU can’t do this!” But through Him, you can do this! For it is Christ in me the hope of Glory. Greater is He that is in me than he, than “YOU,” that is in the world! It’s Him in you. It’s Him through you. It’s not me, it’s not you. It’s Him and He will get the glory! For strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord. And He shall mount us up with eagle’s wings. For they that trust in the Lord shall renew their strength. For the strength of the youth shall fail, but those who trust in the Lord God in all their ways and lean not on their own understanding shall be led by the still waters and unto green pastures. For who can obey these hard sayings, but His yoke is easy and his burden is so light. For He is our strong tower. And we shall walk through the valley of the shadow of death and we shall fear no evil, for the Lord thy God is with us and He is for us and He will empower us and He will strengthen us.
For who can climb the Hill of the Lord? Only those with pure hands and a clean heart. For this is why He is purifying His bride, and He shall make her a city set on that Hill. And He will be our strong foundation. For those who trust in the Lord shall be made strong. Through you, all things were created and through you, we can have our new creation. Old things have passed away and behold new things have been created! For Jesus said, “Be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” And you shall be overcomers by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony. For greater works shall you do for I will go unto the Father. It’s not me, it’s you, Jesus, and you in me! Father, we believe. Help our unbelief. Send the Helper to help me do what you’ve called me to do. Father, if we say we have, we shall have not, but if we say that we have not, we shall have. So, Father, we confess this day that we are weak, we are thirsty, we have need of you, and if I do not eat of you, I will have no strength to obey you. For this is the cup that I shall drink but Father through you! Nevertheless, I shall drink it. Father, you're going to get the glory. When it’s by your power, I cannot take the glory because I know it was you and not me, but if it's by my strength, there shall be pride. For it is by grace through faith and where can any man boast then? So come boldly. Come boldly! To the throne of grace, not just the throne of mercy but the throne of grace, the throne of power, that gives me the power to become, to walk, and to complete your will. And we go boldly in time of need, in time of help, for when we have no strength, we take our weak yes, our willingness to obey without the strength to do it, and we go boldly to the throne of strength. The throne that makes all things possible for nothing is impossible with you!
