KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 

Whatever you bind on earth, whatever you loose, it shall be done above. It shall be done in the heavens. This is power we now have. We fight against spirits and principalities that dwell in high places, but we are seated with Christ in heavenly places! We don’t fight the spiritual fight on an earthly level. We don’t fight as one that beats the air. We don’t fight as servants do, that wait on their master. The master has given us the keys. The same glory that was in Christ is now inside of us. We are co-heirs with the King. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and all things are under His feet. Yet He gives you the keys to the Kingdom. All things are under His feet! Now all things are under your feet! 

The Kingdom is above every other kingdom. We are ambassadors from above, invading earth, to save all those who dwell in it. We are not of this world. We are pilgrims passing through. We are kings and priests. We are above princes and rulers of darkness. We may stand below but we live from above, even above the lower heavens where satan has dominion. We have Kingdom dominion, and this is our mission, our Kingdom commission to go unto to all the world and preach the Gospel. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. This is what will save this generation and anything that opposes that, we have power over. Paul blinded a man that tried to get in the way of the Gospel. He cast a demon out of a woman that got in the way of the Gospel. Jesus made public demonstrations of power and cast out demons left and right that came in the way of the Kingdom because the Kingdom is above satan’s kingdom. We should not be playing defense with the enemy. We should be going in his territory and challenging him to a showdown of power, going into the strongholds of our cities and breaking them. This is the level we need to get to, and it starts in your individual life, how you loose satan off others when you haven’t loosed him off yourself. You need to take kingdom dominion in your own life. 

The Gospel has an opposition. But your position as a son gives you permission to have power over that opposition, so stop talking about your sonship and start walking like one! Stop talking like you have authority over all sickness and disease and start taking authority over sickness and disease. Don’t just say I’m crucified with Christ, start crucifying your flesh. Faith without works is dead. We can talk about our faith all day but if we do not put our hand to the plow, nothing gets plowed. For a son or daughter to think that the devil or their flesh has any power over them is called an illusion. The devil lost all the keys to hell, death, and the grave. Now Jesus has it. Now we have it because we are overcomers by the blood of the lamb. This is your confidence! 

Satan is defeated, so stop letting Him defeat you. When people say, “It’s not satan’s fault, it’s your fault,” they are telling the truth because Jesus said you have authority over satan. Satan baited you, he tempted you, he pressured you, but you gave in to him. You came in agreement. You have the power to say no because you have the power to bind and loose. That whatever you allow on earth shall be allowed in heaven and whatever you don’t allow on earth shall not be allowed in heaven. Jesus gave you the keys over your mind and your heart. Any spiritual force that tries to invade your life is defeated as long as you take authority. Rebuke the devourer and you won’t be devoured. You're the sheriff in town. You police your own spiritual atmosphere, and if you don’t, something will. Take charge, take authority. Or the devil will take authority over you.

We are the giants in the spiritual realm. We make principalities look like little ants. They make us think it's the other way around but it's not. We are over them. We need to awaken to this reality and start taking authority. We have been given the keys to the Kingdom. The Kingdom is here to set the captives free, establish God’s reign, heal the brokenhearted, bind the devil, cast out demons, heal the sick, and cleanse the leapers. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. The world is waiting for the sons of the Son to manifest and walk like the Son. As He did so shall we do, and He said that we shall do greater works than these. 

Jesus knew His authority. He was noted amongst all as one who spoke with authority, one who knew who He was and what He had. Do you know what you have? The devil will try to make you think you have nothing when Jesus has given you everything for life and godliness. He said I give you keys to the Kingdom.  I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. You shall drink any deadly thing and it shall not harm you. You shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. These are the keys. That you shall ask and it shall be given. That if any man desires wisdom that He will give it to Him liberally. Ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. This is the confidence that we now have, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

We need to believe. We need to believe that we receive. We need to believe in those things that are not as though they were. You may not see it, but when you believe it, you will see it. Jesus told the disciples that He gave them authority to cast out devils, and as soon as you know it, someone brought their lunatic son and said we brought him to your disciples but they could not cure Him. “Bring him hither to me!” Jesus said! This is the same confidence that we should have that Jesus had. He was convinced of His authority! The disciples asked why could we not cast it out? Jesus said because of your unbelief! “Or verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20

It’s your unbelief that stops you! It's your unbelief that makes it impossible. You need to stand on the word. If He said He’s given you all power over the enemy, you need to stand on that and execute that power. You need to rebuke the devourer! You have power to bind and loose Him. You need to open your mouth because life and death is in the power of the tongue. God told Moses to speak to the rock! But he took the staff again and tried to do it the old way with the old wine. Well, this is the new way, speak to the rock! Speak to the mountain! Speak to the atmosphere and bind every hindrance! Command it to be cast into the sea. The latter house shall be greater than the former. God was giving Moses keys, authority to you to unlock things. Yet he didn’t take it, so he could not go into the Promised Land. If you want to go into the promised land, you have to lean on His promises. If He said you can do it, you can do it. If He says to speak to the rock, speak to it. If He binds and looses, start binding and loosing. Let those words mold into your vocabulary because God always backs His word.

If you do not take the keys, you cannot advance the Kingdom. The Kingdom has enemies, and if you do not take authority over that enemy, it will take authority over. If you do not take authority over your flesh, it will take authority over you. If you do not bind the strong man, you will not be able to plunder his goods. You need to bind the devil every time he tempts you and tests, and you will start to watch your flesh die because he is not there to feed it anymore. He will lure you away with your own lusts and desires. He will fight you with your own flesh and blood and get you in the flesh to get you in the wrong with God. That way, you would give away your inheritance for a bowl of lentils that you will lose confidence in what you have. Yet you are an overcomer by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony. 

You need to start binding and loosing left and right. That way you can build your testimony and look back and say, “I know the power of His might, I know his word is true, I know what He gave, I have seen it! I have lived it. I have seen the enemy cast out once before and I will see it again!” Then you get back stronger than before. Yet you need to start doing things now. Resist the enemy and He will flee. Stop asking God to do it. He told you to do it! He gave you the keys, now you want Him to drive for you, too? 

Get in the driver's seat. Be led by the Spirit and start taking dominion over your life and the enemy. Everything you shall ask according to His will is yours. If you ask in faith and do not have doubt, it is yours, but the one who doubts is like the one that wavers, “For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed…For a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways receiving nothing from God,” James 1:6,8. You will not receive anything if you do not believe you will receive, and if you will not believe, you will not receive it because you do not believe that you have the keys to the Kingdom.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Every time we stand and walk on His word, we stand and walk in faith. The devil knows the word, and he will come and twist the word and give you his interpretation of the word and try to seduce you into unbelief. The devil will use your flesh to get you in the flesh but you have authority to bind the binder and to bind your flesh. The spiritual man is bigger than the flesh man. The flesh is weak, though the spirit is willing. You need to know what your spirit man has that you would start to live by your inner man. Don’t let the devil convince you other than what is written.

It is written that you have these keys, and when the devil comes and tries to convince you otherwise, you tell Him, “It is written, satan!” Just like Jesus did in the midst of temptation. He was being tempted and challenged in the area of who he was. If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down and let the angels catch you. Turn the stones into bread. Only if you really are the son of God…. Satan was challenging His identity and authority. He will do the same to you! You need to know what is written! God brought the written word by inspiration that we would have another witness, a written witness of His word to help us remember. That we can say to satan, “It is written! Even the letter rebukes you, satan!” He will try to undermine your authority, and you will say, “It is written. He has given unto me the keys to the Kingdom!”

Even from the beginning in the garden, it was written. That Adam should bruise the serpent’s head and the serpent bruise his heal. The devil was secretly trying to take their authority in the garden by offering them something they already were. They were already like God because they were made in the image of God. Jesus was being tempted with the seven kingdoms, but Jesus knew that at the end of the book, the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our Lord. Satan will play a religious game with you and say if you do this, you will get this. If you do this, you will overcome that. NO! You are an overcomer, everything that is His is yours. You have the keys. You can bind him and loose him. You have all power over sin! Stop leaving your keys on the key holder, and start using it to open things and to close the door on the enemy, to rebuke the devourer, and to release the Kingdom. Do not be like the woman at the well, trying to draw living water from other places. He has put a wellspring inside of us! Now we can drop the bucket inside ourselves and hear from heaven like Jesus. Do not look there or here or anywhere. Look within. The Kingdom is inside of you. The keys are in your hand.
