“Father, we ask you to till our hearts today. Father, we want to be free in the Spirit like never ever before. Father, help us to pull out all the bad seeds and plant incorruptible seeds as you till our hearts.”
Let us read Matthew 13:1-44 and let us grab hold and start to till because seeds are words. Sometimes we forget that seeds are not manifesting right away because even bad seeds must obey the cycle of harvest. So, nothing happens suddenly. The condition of our heart always will manifest the kind of seed that is in it. The seed must be the Word of God, so we cannot receive other kinds of seeds. Read Luke 8:5-15. The cares of this life bring no fruits to perfection. Only a good heart can hear the Word of the Lord. The devil can take your hearing ability away if he gets hold of your heart. Seeds of offense allowing offenses in will take over your garden. Where is your garden? It’s your heart!
By hearing they hear but do not understand it, because of all the bad seeds in their heart. They cannot see. They cannot hear. All because of the seeds planted by satan. The Word never gets rooted in them because the seed of offense chokes out love, righteousness, and all the fruits of the Spirit that come by the planting of the Lord, by the very Word of God. The enemy wants to stop you from hearing God by poisoning your heart, and if you cannot hear God, you will hear satan. The only way satan can destroy us is through getting hold of our hearts. Jesus - the Word - needs to be found not in our minds only, but in our hearts. Satan provokes us against each other. This cycle - seed, time, and harvest - will prove to all eyes to see what kind of seed you have let be rooted in your garden. In being grounded in Christ, everything that springs forth will be life and good fruit at the harvest time.
How many seeds does it take to take over your garden? We are supposed to be rich in faith. You need to be the gardener! How many seeds does it take to choke out the good seed? Seeds of offense turn out to be weeds stealing life! What do weeds do? Steal light! Steal water! Steal nutrients! Steal territory! Steal beauty! Steal the presence of God (by which we live and breathe in)! They choke out the life, the good of God! Satan wants to make you try to fix things in the flesh that can only be fixed by the Spirit.
The Truth of God, the hammer, the plow of the Lord is like that tiller! The enemy not only steals the good seeds according to Jesus, but he wants to use people, places, and things to plant in your garden anger, hate, jealousy, and offense. The filter is the casting down of all of them for the obedience of Christ – who is the perfecter of our faith. We are the owners of our own garden (heart).
If I am worried about other people’s gardens, then I cannot pay attention to my own! Therefore, satan wants to try in the flesh to fix something that can only be done by God! Just like everything we see when dealing with the world, in the natural! If we look at people’s lawns and if we do not take care of our own lawn, then the weeds in the neighbor’s lawn start to come over to our side! In the natural, do you think that the weeds coming from the other side will see a property line and will say, “Hey, we need to stop here. This is the property line.”? No. It will keep growing as it can and is permitted. The same happens in our lives and with people with whom we make a negative agreement and practice any evil work, even making a negative thought agreement with satan.
Just like dollar weed! Dollar weed does not respect the property line. They take over, and every owner needs to take care of their own lawn (heart). Read Hebrews 12:1-17 and be encouraged with patience to run the race that is set before us. We must resist offense, bad seeds, always and forever. Despise not God’s alarming you concerning bad seeds in your heart. Do not faint at His rebuke when He sees them in there.
Holiness means submitting to His words and His Truth. If you resist it, you are in a dangerous place. Do not let any bitterness spring up in your heart. What does offense turn into? Hate. Leviathan gives you a death roll. It takes you to the deepest bottom of murky water. Just like weeds, Leviathan takes all things that weeds take – light, beauty, nutrients. It takes all the water of His Word. You end up not being able to hear or to respond to the Word of God. Why do you take in his seeds and ignore the Father’s seeds? God wants you to submit to His will or words only. We cannot be double-minded. Satan is the one who wants you to freak out. A freak has two heads and two minds.
Offense steals our birthright. An offended heart will hold on to it, justifying all bad seeds in their heart. That is a sign that you do not have the mind of Christ anymore. Your mind was taken over by the offender, the accuser of the brethren. Satan’s job is to steal your heart, your devotion, and your life.
You cannot take care of somebody else’s garden. God will look at you and say: "Why are you not taking care of it?" You cannot blame the other person for messing with you. You are the owner of your heart. We must work extra hard to keep weeds out of it. So amazing how God’s parables use His creation to always speak to us about the Spirit! We want Him to come into our garden and take delight in us.
Offended people say, “God knows my heart.” Yes, He does and He says: your heart is wicked according to the Word. I believe God looks on our hearts just like it was a satellite picture! Looking at the landscape of a geographical area! Quite simply, Jesus said, “With the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” The heart is a treasure chest. Keep it clean and filled with good seed. It is never somebody else's fault but yours! The heart is our garden. We are stewards of it. When He comes to our garden, we want to give Him all the treasures. He comes and He wants to see and eat the fruits of our garden.
Let’s go to Luke 6:44-46. Why do we call him, Lord, if we don’t do what He says? He says: Guard your heart. James 3 says that a man that offends not is a perfect man. If you don’t have the heart right, you can’t ever tame your tongue. Out of the abundance of your heart, your mouth will speak.
A little bit of saltwater shows a corrupt fountain. If we humble ourselves, He will help us to clean up our hearts. James goes from the mouth to speak about the heart! Confusion and every evil work are manifested when the heart is corrupted. Guard your heart, keep it clean, with all diligence! Nonstop! Right away! Don’t fall asleep as the evil sower comes in.
In the wisest book of the Bible, Solomon tells us to guard your heart because out of it flows ....” Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 -This is about tending the garden…Then we have this by spirit, life, and death! We eat the fruit of what? Eat the fruit of your own garden! Good or bad. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21
Your garden! You will eat your own fruit! If your heart is clean, you will eat from it! Death and life are in the power of your tongue which is connected to your heart! Do not eat the thoughts of your corrupted heart and do not allow words to hurt us. The thoughts planted by the devil or his messenger in the flesh still is the source of death. Whatsoever a man thinks so he is in his own mind, but we are to have the mind of Christ.
When you get weeds in your garden, when you get tired of being tossed to and fro by every negative thought, go boldly to His throne because of His righteousness! If you and when you get tired of eating spoiled seeds, you will go lower, and He will help you with the weeding of your garden. We cannot do anything by ourselves. The cross is the power to be set free. Period.
Read Jeremiah 4:17-18. Some people feel comfortable with the weeds, but you will be plucked up and tossed. If you are rooted in Him, you will be stable, fruitful, and will multiply!
Jeremiah went from speaking about the tree back to the heart!
“For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:8-10
“Father, we till it out and plant seeds of righteousness, life, truth, peace, and joy! Come to my garden! Forgive us for the wicked heart and give us a heart of flesh. We curse every lie from satan that we believe in. Sound the alarm in our mind. Because without life we are dead. Without a clean heart, we can’t hear, and we can’t see You.”
