“Will I be found worthy when you come?”
This should be our main concern until Jesus comes back. In Revelation 5, there was only one person worthy to open the book: Jesus Christ. Worthy is the Lamb to receive power, riches, strength, honor, and blessing. He is the only one worthy, but then read the words of Jesus and Paul. And what is written shakes me to the core. Is Jesus really saying we need to be worthy as well?
What is it really to be worthy? We need to understand by the Spirit of God what it is to be worthy. Luke 21 says: WATCH THEREFORE THAT YOU WILL BE FOUND WORTHY. You can’t be watching over your own kingdom and watching over His kingdom at the same time. When He comes, are you connected to Him or to your own things? Are you so earthly bound that you are no heavenly good?
People think they can be worthy without submitting themselves to the Holy Spirit. It is all about relationship with Him and submission to Him. To stand before the Son of man, we need to watch, we need to pray always. That means always in relationship with Him so we can escape all that is about to come to pass. Watch. Pray. Or we won’t be accounted worthy! Jesus makes it clear that without faith, you will not make it. Fear is a killer.
Even John the Baptist doing all he was called to do was not accounted worthy even to tie Jesus’ sandals. Nobody qualifies us to get to the Father but Jesus. There is nothing we can do in the flesh to make us worthy. Jesus did. We are only worthy in Him. This is not a one time prayer or a once a week confession and session. This is a communion of covenant through faith.
When you are living in His righteousness, the enemy will accuse you, but you know that all he says is a lie. We are standing before Him clean. A righteous man will keep falling and getting up until he walks in His righteousness. You live like a dead man when you stop following the Holy Spirit. If the way looks crooked, He will align us if we keep following Him. False grace gets tired of the cross and tries to have Jesus carry it. False converts have a false Christ, a Christ that does not expect a fight. That type of Christ relies only on a promise that produces no fruit.
People say, “Nobody knows the day and the hour,” but when it gets closer just like a woman in labor, you will know that it is very close. We need to walk worthy because it is really closer than ever. When God tells His son to get on that horse, you better be with Him. He will do nothing that in our communion with Him we will not know.
He that overcomes the World is worthy! People that don’t pick up their cross, that live for themselves, that live in iniquity, they are not the ones that the Word is talking about. So cherry pickers have a form of godliness but deny the power of the grace to be changed.
Somebody is always changing. He does not. He is still the same. My lack of faith can make me believe in something else. We need to come in agreement with whatever the Holy Spirit is saying to His church. Even before Jesus went to the cross, He told them if you want to follow Him, you need to pick up your cross. Our cross is to deny our self. The glory came out after Jesus’ decision to walk out His orders from heaven. Some believers talk about “picking up the cross” with such a disbelief. They are deceived by their own comforts, creating their own delusion, making the Word of Jesus without power.
Who is worthy of Him? The one that picks up their cross. What makes us worthy of Jesus is to do what He wants and not what we want. He clearly said, “If any man comes after me and does not pick up His cross, He is not worthy of me.” Your cross bears the marks of your salvation.
We need to understand that our whole life is for His glory. Even though Jesus loved Lazarus, He did not run to raise Him. He was doing what the Father was doing. What we do is for Him and not for ourselves! All is for His glory. He says that we are made for His glory, not just for a rescue mission.
If you don’t confess Him, if you do deny Him, you are not worthy of Him. If you love father, brother, and mother more than Him, you are not worthy of Him. He said it. He that does not take up his cross is not worthy of Him," said Jesus, not “me.” These are His red letters. You worship the book but don’t believe the words. This is why He said, “My words are spirit and life.” Why, because they are Truth and the answer for partnering with His worthiness.
Those that are not wearing the wedding garments are not worthy of Him. They have a carnal relationship with the bridegroom. They don’t have a covenant with Him. They are not clothed with Himself. They don’t put Christ on, and they find themselves naked. They live separate from the Body, saying we are worthy because of what Jesus did. This is true, but Jesus was clear when He is saying, “You are worthy for what you do!” according to JESUS! Now, what are you going to do?
Those who are worthy of Him are the ones who are watching and waiting in a position of servanthood. God will not let you be deceived. Blessed is that servant that is found doing. Doing what? What he told us to do. This is worthy of Him. Stay worthy until He comes. Worthy of our calling! Worthy of Him! Worthy of the Kingdom of God for which we suffer! If we suffer with Him, we are worthy of Him. We are all called to be worthy of Him. But many deny Him now and don’t forsake all. You have been convinced that you have all you need. But you are out of oil and are full of impurities and religion. If He is the fuller’s soap, if He is the refiner, then to be worthy is to be refined as the gold. The glory in you is the hope in Him for them. Let’s walk worthy of the vocation He has called us to. Not a man made Gospel but one worthy of Him, as a doer and not just a hearer.
